what is capacity?

For a formal seated dinner with space for a dance floor, Sognare is ideal for 150 or under. If you’re having a ceremony and reception inside our space, 100 is max. See some of our floor plans on the home page.

What kind of Events can we Host at Sognare?

Sognare is a versatile venue perfect for a wide range of events! Whether you’re planning a wedding ceremony or reception, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, or baby shower, we have the perfect space for your celebration. Our event space is also ideal for retirement parties, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs, workshops, corporate events, holiday parties, engagement parties, anniversary celebrations, networking events, charity events, and intimate dinners.

can we bring in our own food?

Yes! Or choose from our trusted, preferred caterer list who we know will provide you and your guests the best experience.

can we bring in our own alcohol?

Yes! We require you hire a licensed bartending group or caterer or a special liquor license permit from St. Louis City if you are planning on hosting your own bar. We have a list of reputable bartending services below.

is parking free?

Yes! We have a combination of free street parking, and private parking lots all accessible to our clients. They are first come first serve. If our sister space (The Dreamer’s Loft) is also being rented, these areas are shared. We share our section of the street with two businesses that aren’t typically open on the weekend, especially at night. And our property takes up a whole city block, so there’s rarely many cars parked nearby!

Do you Hold Dates?

No, we do not hold dates. To reserve a date the contract and deposit must be paid.

Is set up and breakdown time included in the rental package?

The PM and FULL DAY rental packages include one free hour prior to the contracted booking time for set-up and one free hour after the conclusion of the event for breakdown. If you or your vendors require additional event, set-up, or breakdown times, additional hours can be added at a pro-rated cost prior to your event.

Is there a deposit needed to reserve date?

A deposit of 50% of the contract balance is due upon signing. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to your event date. This payment is non-refundable.

How many meetings are included in the rental fee?

Yes, the rental fee includes two planning meetings with the venue representative. The first meeting will occur approximately 6 months before the event date to review event details, plan the space layout, and discuss add-ons. The second meeting will take place about 6 weeks before the event date for finalizing plans.

Is event liability insurance required?

Yes, we do require liability insurance for weddings and large parties specifically serving alcohol. You’ll want to get event liability insurance, including host liquor liability coverage if alcohol is being served. You can acquire this through your insurance provider or event specific insurers. Do you offer flowers or decor?

We do! We are actually owned by An Affair To Remember (AATR) and Styled & Staged. Perks of hosting your event at Sognare - there are no minimums for floral orders from AATR and our clients receive 50% off rentals at Styled & Staged (excluding candlescapes). Our design group can create a comprehensive design that includes personal flowers, ceremony/reception flowers & decor, and beautiful place settings, lounge furniture, etc. We will have a beautiful menu of “add ons” coming very soon! Consider this a very one-stop shop (curated by talented designers who you can trust with your vision!)

Is there a space to get ready at Sognare?

Yes! Our adjacent space, The Dreamer’s Loft, is available for rent by the hour! It’s perfect for getting ready, the cutest photos, or just hanging out! Sognare clients receive 50% off rates!

do we need to hire security?

We are located in relatively safe neighborhood and do not require you to hire security for your event. However, we want to be sure everyone feels safe and excited to celebrate! Below are some local companies you can contact about security for your event.
